it's always complicated
Louisa Jane Demsie was born as the last girl to Robert and Amelia Demsie, on the day of love -- Valentine's Day. She was two weeks fashionably late, of course, which set the tone for her whole life. In her adult years, Louisa would be known for being late to everything, a downfall of her personality. Being the baby of the family to two elder sisters and two elder brothers, it was easy to get her way. Much attention was spent on Louisa from the moment she was born and started to grow, especially since she demanded it. Although she loved her siblings very dearly, she knew that she had the upper hand with her parents. Louisa was very head strong, stubborn, opinionated, and spunky, even at such an early age.
At the age of six, she knew exactly what she wanted to do: perform. After her dad came home on business from America and brought home old Hollywood movies such as Breakfast at Tiffany's and Singing in the Rain, Louisa was hooked. She wanted to act and sing and perform. She found joy in watching any movie she could. So after begging, her parents put her into theatre school for all of her primary years, until she was able to land her first role on a British TV mini series called Oliver Twist. There she would learn to hone her skills and take lessons from those around her on how to be a great actress. She would do homeschool during the times she wasn't working and then attend her theatre classes where she learned more about the practice of acting and even the art of different accents. And when Oliver Twist ended, she went right back to school to dive even more into her passion.
Not even two years later, Louisa had auditioned for and scored the role of Jules Paxton in Bend it like Beckham, which unexpectedly became a popular movie around the UK and in America. Because of her performance in the movie, it had caught the eyes of managers and agents in America who were very eager to work with the young up and comer. But still, she was tied to her British roots and afraid to leave her home. Although Louisa was very much passionate about becoming an actress, she was still a bit apprehensive if she would be able to make it over in the States. So, by playing it safe again, she landed her next role in Love Actually as Juliet. This time, working with more American actors and claiming the attention of other Americans in the business. Call after call, she knew she had to take the leap.
So in 2003, Louisa and her mother decided to move to Los Angeles, just for one year, to see where her career could go. Luckily, Louisa ended up as Gretchen Wieners for a very unknown, at the time, movie called Mean Girls. Little did anyone know, from the cast to production, that it was going to be as big of a movie as it was. Mean Girls completely changed Louisa's life and she and her mom decided they would make a second residence in Los Angeles so Louisa's career could thrive. She and her mom would always travel back and forth from LA to London to be with their family and so that Louisa could have her career.
After gaining a few movies here and there, Louisa got a call from her agent about a new television show that was being created called Gossip Girl. Unsure of what it would even mean, she auditioned for the part of Serena, but didn't land it. Instead, the casting directors loved her stubbornness and look that they decided to give her Blair instead. This would mean that Louisa had to live in New York City for the time being. Again, unsure of where this road would take her, she ended up living there for six years, as Gossip Girl became one of the most popular prime-time shows on television. It was six of the best years of her life, creating friendships that would last forever and learning so much.
However, between those years were some of the worst. Being away from her family was very difficult for her. By the time Gossip Girl started, she was 19 and was able to live on her own. Her mother went back to live in London but in 2008, she lost her in a terrible car accident while Louisa was in New York filming. It turned Louisa's life upside down. Instead of going back to be with her family, Louisa threw herself into her work to try and cover up the loss and pain. The film The Greatest, however, took a negative toll on her well-being, as it was about losing the love of one's life in a car accident. However, it was just what she needed, as it broke her down so much so that she ended up going back to London to be with her family and only going to New York when she needed to film Gossip Girl. She turned down film roles for two years, as she used that time to heal and become okay with the loss of the best person in her life.
2012 also brought loss but new beginnings, as well. Although Gossip Girl ended, which was very hard for her, she knew it was time to move on. Louisa ended up auditioning and taking another role, of Cosette in Les Misérables. She decided to tap back into her roots as a child when she attended theatre school. Not only did she learn to act but she learned to sing and perform. Les Misérables was exactly what she needed to get excited and passionate about her career again. It was also one of her mother's favorite movies, so she was more than happy to pay homage. And in 2014, she played Jane Hawking in The Theory of Everything, which, too, changed her outlook on her career, as it was a serious role where she learned so much about life and love.
Louisa is now learning to take time for herself instead of always throwing all of her time into her work when things go wrong in her life. She's learning to be a more serious actor and take roles that truly mean something to her. Although she did that before, it was more because she needed to keep herself on the radar so she could keep working. The most current film for Louisa is called A Monster Calls, about a little boy who is dealing with his mother dying. She chose the role, as it was one she could relate to and it spoke to her, in some sense. As time keeps moving, Louisa finds that she is less concerned about needing work but more concerned about what will feed her soul.

• As an ESFP, your primary mode of living is focused externally, where you take things in via your five senses in a literal, concrete fashion. Your secondary mode is internal, where you deal with things according to how you feel about them, or how they fit with your personal value system. ESFPs live in the world of people possibilities. They love people and new experiences. They are lively and fun, and enjoy being the center of attention. They live in the here-and-now, and relish excitement and drama in their lives. ESFPs have very strong inter-personal skills. Since they make decisions by using their personal values, they are usually very sympathetic and concerned for other people's well-being. If the ESFP has not developed their Thinking side by giving consideration to rational thought processing, they tend to become over-indulgent, and place more importance on immediate sensation and gratification than on their duties and obligations. They may also avoid looking at long-term consequences of their actions. They love to be the center of attention and perform for people. They're constantly putting on a show for others to entertain them and make them happy.
